Today’s story is a new one to me, and I’m guessing for you, too. I was looking for something a little different to read, something not spooky, maybe a little fantastic and a little obscure. I think I found what I was looking for.
It’s called “The Violet Flame” and written by Lydia Maria Child who was born in 1802 and was an America abolitionist, women’s rights activist and Native American rights activist. She also wrote novels and a journalist.
So have you ever heard of her? Well, there’s still a chance. Her best known piece was the poem “Over the River and Through the Wood”.
But today I’m going to read The Violet Flame.
